You might have noticed from the image above that our logo looks a little different. That’s because it is!
Introducing the NEW NNRMLS logo design! We are proud of this reimagined style that will now represent our brand.
Why did we redesign our logo?
The former NNRMLS logo represented our brand for more than a decade and as the organization has grown and been recognized nationally as a fount of leadership in the real estate industry our executive team decided it was time to build on that storied legacy and refresh our brand. Our objective was to build a new visual identity for our company, including the creation of a modern and simplified logo that reflects our mission, vision and values.
How did NNRMLS decide on the new design?
NNRMLS Creative Designer Loy Mach used the former logo’s mountain contour as the starting point to create this new and modern branding. Mach developed several iterations of the design and had many consultations with our team; our executive settled on one of Mach’s favored ideas, which is the design you see on this page.
What does the new logo represent?
“Our new logo reflects the natural beauty of our region and symbolizes the values of our organization and those we wish to reflect in our professional membership,” said NNRMLS CEO George Pickard. “The sun represents the source, as NNRMLS is your source for outstanding applications and services and timely and accurate listing information. The sun is reliable, steady and radiant in a vast clear blue sky of possibility that reaches far and wide above the majestic mountains that symbolize the long-standing traditions of ethics and professionalism that support our system of organized real estate– the rock-solid legacy of NNRMLS. These mountains are the shoulders of the giants we strive to stand upon. They remind us that by being ‘part of something big,’ we are also part of something larger than ourselves.”
Mach purposefully used the elements of the sun, mountains, and sky to evoke this response.
“The bright gold sun in the logo is the source of light, energy and warmth and reminds us of the values that our staff embraces and that the MLS is the source of accurate and up-to-date home information for our members and the public,” Mach said. “The blue background of the sky symbolizes our iconic Nevada blue skies. The contour of the mountains reminds us that we are at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains and Lake Tahoe. The font chosen is strong – another quality of our company. Just as we are a strong support to our members in our technology, products and services, so too are our Members in their knowledge and expertise for their clients.”
That is why we love this redesigned logo, it personifies who we are, the values that guide us, the place we live and how we see the utility of the multiple listing service marketplace serving our members’ business aspirations and their clients’ goals.
In addition to being on the leading edge of the traits above, we also want to reflect these qualities that our members share with us to the consumers that they serve. When a Member has access to NNRMLS we want the consumer to trust that their agent is working with the best tools to serve their client’s needs. We know our members are ethical, hard-working professionals striving to be the true source of accurate real estate data and expertise. Their professionalism is rock-solid and their drive to serve the public is clear-eyed, open-minded and carries a vast capacity to succeed.
So while the Oxford dictionary says that a logo is “a symbol or other design adopted by an organization to identify its products, uniform, vehicles, etc,” we know it’s so much more than that. It personifies why we do what we do and how we do it.
“Under all is the land. Upon its wise utilization and widely allocated ownership depend the survival and growth of free institutions and of our civilization.” – preamble to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.
